A ransomware crew hits a city hall, a hospital or a family business with the same tooling it uses on a multinational. The defence, however, is priced as if only the multinational deserved it: per gigabyte, per endpoint, per feature, with the security basics sold as add-ons.
We think that is backwards. The detection rules, the data formats and the agents that run with root on your servers should be things you can read, run and verify. So we build them in the open, and we charge for what really costs us: scale, support and the operation of large, multi-customer environments.
That is what we mean by democratizing security. Not cheaper copies of enterprise tools, but the same engineering, open to anyone willing to run it.
